A brief history in the evolution of a nail bar.
Lets start with Manicures at Midnight.... 2012. Tiny tables, little lights and lots of friends in local bars.
This was back in the day while I also worked in a beauty salon, doing everything from honey waxing, hotwax, microdermabrasion, specialised facials, aromatherapy massage and laser hair removal.
2013 - Year of the Festival Pop Up
Marquees, DIY decorations, plastic folding tables and chairs (not all of them made it...) Effy Nails Pop Up Nail Bar popped up at festivals such as Sundown, Street Fest, Rivington Street and The Fling.
2014 - Going Solo
My first nail bar within a hairdressers, after leaving my salon job. Scary but good times!
From Then Until Now...
Countless make-shift "nail bars" for behind-the-scenes at photoshoots and on set for music videos, short films and commercials.
2016 - Zalando's Bread & Butter event was the busiest pop up I've ever experienced. This is one of very few photos from that weekend. Hard work is an understatement but look how pretty it was!
2017 - Life on the 5th Floor
A constantly evolving and growing studio space. I share my artists studio with 4 creative friends, each adapting our space to our craft. We moved in Spring 2016.
You'll find a light sculptor, a costume designer, a teddy bear maker and a set designer but hardly ever at the same time.
Come and see what the nail bar looks like now for Autumn 2017... there's
more nail colours
(and a new heated pedicure throne)
It just keeps growing and I love it.
